I love painting people and trees, drawing an infinite amount of inspiration in just watching these wonderful creatures! I like to capture fleeting emotions. Before they are erased from reality, I set the pace in slow motion and look deeper. I hope that the viewer sets on the journey of deepening their awareness of the passing moment with me.

People often ask an artist, “How do you know when your painting is finished?” I am done with my painting when it elevates me emotionally to the place where I feel my imagination and curiosity is fully engaged, when I dissolve into the world depicted on the canvas. And, I think, in our fast-pace world, it is a gift to be that engaged, that elevated from the busy-bee existence.

The inspiration for my artwork is drawn from my life experiences. The moments I cherish and try to capture are the tenderness and alertness of the mother, determination of the brother and sister about to plunge into the Mediterranean sea, a woman unfolding a letter from her secret admirer, a look of rejection of a dissatisfied young wife,  mystery of the connection between a woman and the moon. Each painting is a journey into a rich inner world revealed in these moments.
